What is Right to Buy?
The Right to Buy scheme gives you the opportunity to own your home. If you are a secure tenant of Ashfield District Council it is likely that you will have the Right to Buy the freehold or long leasehold of the home you live in. However, buying your home is likely to be one of the biggest decisions you will have to make. You need to think carefully before you buy, consider the cost implication of buying the property and whether it is suitable for your circumstances.
To apply to buy your home you will need to complete an application form (Form RTB1). The application form is available:
- by telephoning the Estates Section of the Council (see "Contact Right To Buy"),
- from any of the Council's Offices at Kirkby in Ashfield, Sutton in Ashfield or Hucknall,
- by submitting an online request for Form RTB1 to be posted or emailed to you,
- by downloading a copy of Form RTB1.
If you are unsure on how to complete any aspect of the application form, the Council's Right to Buy Officer or any other member of the Council's Estates Section will be pleased to assist.
