Building Control Service

Your Building Control team here at Ashfield District Council deliver a comprehensive service, covering free pre-application advice meetings, building regulation plan appraisal and site inspections, enforcement, dealing with dangerous structures and demolitions.

Our charges reflect the actual cost of delivering the service and we now also provide individually tailored inspection schedules so you and your builder know what stages of the work we need to see, in order for us to issue you with a completion certificate.

We will also provide individual quotes if you feel your proposed works do not fall into any of the standard categories.

We are here to provide you and your builder with all the help and guidance we can.

Please contact us on 01623 457387 if you wish to discuss fees or want to obtain further advice before submitting your application.

We are happy to receive electronic applications (via email). Payment can be taken over the telephone.

Revised Fees Effective From the 1st April 2016

Ashfield District Council's Building control section operate a not-for-profit service for their statutory fee earning building control function.

Each year a review of charges is made to ensure they are set to recover costs. The new fees will come into effect on 1st April 2016. These charges reflect what, we hope you agree, will be real value for money when considering the level of inspection and service we aim to deliver.

Please note that, whilst we have a range of standard charges for various types of work, we are always happy to give individual quotes where necessary.
